This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to install, configure, and manage various virtualization technologies. Topics include an overview of virtualization offerings, and the installation, configuration, maintenance, backup and restore, and migration of virtual servers. Virtual storage and virtual networking will also be covered.

Target Audience
- This seminar is intended for IT professionals who are or will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of a (virtualized) Microsoft client-server infrastructure. Newcomers to Hyper-V are just as welcome as administrators who want to get to know the innovations of Windows Server 2022 and Hyper-V servers.
- Using practical exercises, you will learn how to install, configure, manage and maintain client-server structures under Windows Server 2022 (Server 2016 / 2019).
- One focus is the identity and access technologies around Active Directory, but also the new features in Windows Server – Storage Solution, Cluster, WSL2 and Container
Course Prerequisites
- Professional experience with Windows client operating systems such as Windows 7, 8 and Windows 10.
- Initial experience with Windows server systems is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of operating client-server environments.
- Understanding of basic network technologies such as IP addressing, name resolution and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and virtualization.

- Windows Server – versions, roles, features and Hyper-V
- Windows Server and its management tools (Windows Admin Center)
- Windows Server Infrastructure – ADDS, DNS, AD DS Sites and Replication
- Implementation and administration of Group Policy
- Cluster und Storage Solutions – Storage Spaces, Storage Space Direct, iSCSI, SMB
- Windows Subsystem Linux 2 (WSL2) container in Windows Server
- Manage, monitor, maintain Windows Server in private and public cloud (Azure)

This five day course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to design and implement Microsoft Server Virtualization solutions using Hyper-V and System Center.
